I think a tablet for "remote control/locator" type functions would be great.
I wouldn't want to use any touch device for super detailed adjustments.
Gimme real tactile controls or a mouse for that purpose.
Yeah I agree. The reason I am interested in all this now is becasue I was going to upgrade and build a new DAW bottom up or buy a Sager or other custom notebook to run my home studio. Then I started reading about W8 (which if you follow Windows is in the same timeline as ME and Vista...ugh meaning it could have major issues).
I thought I would just keep W7 and keep chugging along. But X2 and W8 can be a powerful duo with touch capability, ESPECIALLY if I can take mixes portable on a W8 Tablet or notebook.
Perhaps single touch screen capability is already there with W7 if one gets a touch display. Maybe it works as mouse commands...don't know I have not kept up as I have in the past with hardware technology ( Im still using a Q6660) and have gone to Android's linux based custom ROMs in the phone/tablet world.
