Just looking at an email from CW re the buy X1 get X2 free promo.

Can someone please clarify exactly what this means...

"Please note: SONAR X2 will only support Windows 7 and Windows 8. Windows XP and Windows Vista will no longer be officially supported."

Are you saying there is sone reason why it won't work in XP/Vista or that if it doesn't work, then that's your problem ?

No, it should work.  There is just no support for it, so if you use XP/Vista and have a problem, it ain't Cake's.

It's Cakewalk's way of saying that they bought a one-way ticket on the 64-bit train.

It's true. X2 will not officially support XP. You can use "at your own risk" and there are no specific reasons why it shouldn't work, but XP is no longer part of our official testing matrix and therefore is not officially supported.

We officially recommend Windows 7 for SONAR X2 and will likely add Windows 8 to that list soon enough.

Thanks for reply Brandon. Just to further clarify - will XP/Vista users with any technical probs still get any kind of support (as the particluar problem in question could be nothing to do with the OS) or will it be a case of ....you don't have W7, therefore we're not talking to you ?

I think CW support is pretty understanding when it comes to usability questions on an unsupported configuration. But technical problems (crashes, errors, etc) won't have any guarantee.

Thanks again for prompt response. Not quite a free lunch then - but ain't that always the case ? ;)

While I have your attention, do you know if there will be any changes to the colour customisation options in X2 ?  Console view is my main concern. If you are unable to say  - do you know when this info will be available ?

Finally!!!! Out standing!!!! We can only hope that this is true!!!
I hope they stop deliver and support SONAR x32bit too!

One thing that is sad though they say Windows 8 going to be released as a x32bit looser version of the OS too? I hope not!?
Still no one going to use it so why bother?
