On the topic of stutter type plugs, check this boy out:

http://illformed.org/plugins/glitch/

It's great, and offers lots of options, and it's free.

I couldn't get it to work for ages at first too. I went into the  Plug-In Manager, clicked on the VST and went to Plug-In Properties and then enabled Configure as tempo-based effect.

I don't think it's as powerful as Izotope's, but great all the same!

Not had any problems myself, stutter edit shows up in both Studio one and Sonar x1d expanded via my vst folder,
so not sure what the problems are their for you  yorolpal.

You should  be able to work stutter edit via your keyboard and just to make certain just open up the presets and click on the stutter edit keys to make sure the effects trigger.
but the best way is to set stutter edit up the same way you would with a vocoder,
Drop stutter edit on an audio or  vst/midi track, then create a new midi track and send this via the channel outs to stutter edit, You can then just write in midi to trigger the effects i normally do this via the sonar inline piano roll its much more convenient when starting off, you can also then set up drum maps with the fx name for each note/pitch if you wanted.

Apparently it's a glitch in Stutter Edits 64bit VST implementation.  If you're running 64bits you either have to exclude (or remove) the SE 32bit .dll OR, like I did, fool Sonar into using the 64bit version.  Are you saying you're running a 64bit system and had no trouble having both the 32bit and 64bit .dll files installed??

It would seem not, must of been when i used 32bit sonar with ableton live rewired, when i last had stutter edit working,
thought it was more recent, i later went all 64bit, so quite dismayed to find this out,I cant trigger effects via midi as i first thought,
At the moment i only use all 64bit, so no 32bit dll, quite  a new one one on me this now i find out it also apply's to me.
Just a bit baffled with whole thing, i have deffo had stutter edit working, but just not sure on circumstances with 32bit dll and 64bit dll now.

I can load up stutter edit, but not trigger effects.

If you'll search back through this thread and also the one I posted on the software forum you'll find at least two solutions to get you up and running.  I sent a missive to Izotope but haven't heard back as yet.  I'll keep ya posted.

Just heard back from Izotope and their solution was similar to mine only it was just to change the registry entry "resgister as synth" to 1 instead of 0.  They said they didn't see any harm done from the way I did it...as long as it's working fine and it seems to be.  I then asked if they were planning an updated installer to fix this problem and they basically said, no, not at this time.  I find this interesting as this is probably happening to a bunch of users and mucking about the registry is not for the faint of heart.  Perhaps they think it's Cake that should fix it.  In any case there you have it.  From both Cake and Izotope (and me).  Three different ways to fix it.  But none of them the best way, which would be a proper installer or a proper install receptor.  Go figure.
