Both my desktop and laptop are ancient beasts, but both have been upgraded over the years with the newest version of Windows and Sonar as they have become available. They are both solid performers and rarely crash as long as stay within the confines of the memory limit. It means i can't run too many plug ins at once with Sonar, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.
I have an oldish astronomy program that syncs to a telescope. It is 32bit only, and is one of the reasons I haven't yet made the leap to 64bit.
I am assuming that at some stage Cakewalk will discontinue supplying 32bit installs for Sonar? At that stage I will have to purchase new computers and make the leap to 64bit. It will be a huge step for me and I'm not looking forward to the time I'll have to find to bring my projects up to date. But, that's progress and I'm not complaining, just not looking forward to it.

We haven't had any serious discussions over it with SONAR. It's more a question of what new products won't support 32. Even when we 'officially' drop 32-bit on SONAR, we'll probably still give you the option to try 'at your own risk'. SONAR still installed on Vista far after we dropped official support.

Yeah but we won't be getting 32 bit updates for life.
I should be 64 bit win10 by sometime maybe Saturday I hope.

0 ideas seems to go away after a log in log out of Momentum, at least that's what happened to me when I tried it, got the 0 ideas, log out, log back in, no more 0 ideas.

We figured out what was causing that. The first time you sign on to your cakewalk account from momentum, there can be a small lag before the product is associated with your account. As a result it would not get the correct account data. Closing the app and restarting it would fix the problem. We've plan to fix it on our end server side so it should not happen to new users relatively soon.

Thanks for the reply Seth. I am truly amazed that I still have Pro Audio 9, and every version of Sonar from 8.0 to the current build, installed on both my laptop and desktop. Both Pro Audio 9 and Sonar 8.5 still function on both machines, although I only open them from time to time to see if they still work. I haven't tried X1 to X3 since the Platinum updates began but I'm sure they would still work if needed.
It's a testament to the ruggedness of Cakewalk's builds, and my (not trying to blow my own trumpet) efforts to keep my computers in good condition and up to date.
Anyhow, I have resigned myself to one day having to retire both systems and make the update to 64bit. Like I said though, I'm just not looking forward to it. I do hope though that it will be fairly painless, and I know that I will get all the help I need from both Cakewalk and the forum members here if needed.
Maybe Momentum will be the tipping point.

Hi,
Thinking "out of the box" - could this thing be used to create a real time personal mix for recording? Presonus has a iPhone app called QMix that allows the artist to control their mix remotely.

What is it?????? I DLed it now what?

when inspiration strikes, start recording.
add a few more tracks
then when you get home to your daw, you can import and start developing the song.

It's straightforward. And for android, it's one of the only good multitrack recorders with the support of a large company.

...just wondering.

I have joined the discord group for momentum.

Why is that being used instead of the Cakewalk forums?

Is there some advantage?

Perhaps I am on the wrong thread, but when I use my cell phone's mic in a rehearsal the band's volume overloads the mic. This would render Momentum useless.

Anyone have a reasonable priced mic that goes in an Android, and has the ability for high DB?

That would make Momentum a lot more useful for me.
