I got a wave file with wrong original tempo 160 bpm of 2 bars but it should be 1 one bar at 80 bpm.
When I import this wave file into a Sonar X1 project with the thempo 80 it fits into one bar and sounds and looks correct.
But when I turn it into a Groove clip, with CTRL+L,  Sonar expands it into 2 bars and the audio is at half speed.  It looks like it is not possible to change the value of the orignal time stamp of the clip and I have tried to bounce to clip, export the track and import again without success.

The reason for me doing this is that I want to use this groove clip in a project with the tempo 90 and a 160 bpm groove clip is unusable in that case.

Is there a workaround in Sonar X1 to handle this?

select it and bounce to clips first

I have done so but that does not change anything.

Not at DAW at the moment, but I think you can double click on the loop and set the number of beats in the Loop Construction view and then turn it into Groove Clip IIRC.

Sorry, it's the other way round.

Turn to groove clip, then double click on it and set number of beats in loop construction View.

Thanks jb101.  That is the trick.
