X1 Producer is quite a bit "BIGGER" than guitar tracks. It's going to take some study to learn it. I fully think you should make the jump. You will have to learn how to make it as simplistic as guitar tracks.

You will have to learn how to make it as simplistic as guitar tracks.

And over time you may discover that you're actually willing to make it a little more "complicated" when the benefits outweigh the costs.

Craig's point is very well taken, it's QUITE a huge jump from GT to X1 and X1-PE, at that. I used GT many moons ago, then worked my way into MC. I simply refused to believe that I could learn to use such a complicated platform as Sonar. Believe it or not, I upgraded from MC5 to Sonar 8.5, just for a few features, but continued to do the "real work" of building tracks in MC. Little by little, I got less intimidated and made the changeover. Then, even went from Sonar 8.5 to X1 PE last year, again because the benefits greatly outweighed the complexity. And like you, I'm learning more features by the day. Welcome to the club - it's a never-ending process. But always exciting!

Good points all. Yes it is a big jump from GT, but I am growing less intimidated daily.  I had no idea what I was missing.  This has opened up a whole new world of possibilities.
