Title says is all...I've been using a PMI Bosendorfer 290 for years which is 8 years old and no longer supported by EastWest. Recording mostly modern country (i.e. Lady Antebellum, etc.). Thoughts?

Ivory (www.synthogy.com) has a Boesi that is packaged with a Steinway D and a Yamaha C7. The C7 might work well for
the modern country sound. Synthogy also has  Faz and upright pianos that are packaged separately. There is also a
Steinway D put out by Galaxy Instruments (http://www.galaxy-instruments.com/) that sounds great for a very
reasonable price. Galaxy sells it through Best Service.

I think Synthogy's Ivory II Grands is the best package out there. It has a Steinway D, a Bosendorfer, and a Yamaha. I agree with peregrine on using the Yamaha for a bright Nashville sound, although I am personally a Steinway fan. Ivory II has built in EQ you can use to brighten up the Steinway or Bosendorfer, if you like.

I just purchased the SampleTekk White Grand [http://www.sampletekk.com/proddetail.php?prod=STDELIVER-019-FORMAT ] and also their SampleTekk Black for Kontakt 5 [this one:  http://www.sampletekk.com/proddetail.php?prod=STDELIVER-039-KONT ].  Both are excellent for pop, country, rock and even Jazz.  I am very pleased with this purchase.  I beleive both are still 50% off through end of July--I think.  Be aware that the SampleTekk Black requies Kontakt5 and comes with a liscence code for Kontakt 5 player; it is easily tweaked by the GUI designed for Kontakt 5.  The White Grand works on Kontakt 2 thourhg 5, Halion and Gigastudio3.  They are my goto pianos right now.  I don't own IvoryII and have often wanted to get it, but now that I have these new SampleTekk versions, I am set for my pop, rock, country,Jazz mixes.  BTW, I like the PMI Bosendorfer 290 and the Emperor and the Old Lady, but for your question I use the two I linked for you and they are running about $50 a piece while this sale is ongoing.  Here is a thread downstair on the Gear/software forum where these have been discussed: http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?m=2601216

Thank you all for the responses...extremely helpful and informative (I had not heard of a lot of these companies/products). The EastWest rep emailed me and recommended Quantum Leap Platinum for a reduced upgrade price. Seems like a HUGE collection. Anyone have any experience working with it? http://www.soundsonline.com/Pianos

As mentioned by Cecelius the PMI Bosendorfer 290 is availabe from Sampletekk in a few formats. If you particularly like this piano and have a host that is Kontakt, HALion, EXS24 and Gigastudio compatble you can pick it uo for $25 for the next few days.

Quantum leap east west Yamaha is great for country and gospel. Has a good bite to it. The only problem I have with East West Pianos is no Half pedaling support. I fixed that with a Bome's midi script (in combo with ACT controller) to use the CC 64 sus pedal data to work the Envelope release knob to graduate the sus pedal for Half pedaling or half dampening.

Just remembered Best Service has a promo going until 8/12. The code is promo2012 and gives you a euro30
discount at checkout. That makes the Galaxy D about $96, I think. An absolute steal deal.

So the free True Piano in X1 wouldn't be worth trying?
