I use a KeyRig 49 also, but not because it has the best features. I like it because it is very light (and inexpensive). I can lean it up against the table that holds my console, and then pick it up easily and put it in my lap to record a part. If I need to do a really serious piano part, I move to a larger keyboard with weighted action and all the pedals.

Problem solved. I got the Roland UM-ONE MIDI/USB interface. I plug it into my Axiom, and it works perfectly. The m-audio midisport was nothing but trouble for me.

If you are talking about the MIDISPORT 4x4 MIDI interface, I have that and it is a royal pain: it messes up a lot.

I have (er, uhm **HAD**) the 1X1. Royal pain indeed! The Roland is a breath of fresh air :-)
