Hey JD,
I tend to throw virus around loosely as a general term. Pretty much anything that is messing with my PC and I didn't install or put it there.
Kind of like a weed in the garden. If a sunflower starts growing amongst my tomato plants and I didn't plant it, I consider it a weed and yank it.

Quick question.
How does one go about clearing out the cache in Windows 7?
And in XP while we're at it.

I've never cleared the cache on any PC and have a feeling that some of the PC's in this here house could benefit from such a cleaning.

Thanks,
Mike

OK, good point - well, clearing internet cache is difficult to describe cause the terms are a little different and the location is slightly different depending on which browser you use. But in general, there is an "internet tools" sort of function that you pull down and select to clear browsing history. in my FF, for instance, I pull down "Tools", select "options", and go to the "privacy" tab, and click "Clear all current history". Now in the newer IE versions, they;'ve tried to integrate the function more, but pull down: Tools, select Internet options, go to the Advanced tab, scroll clear down until you see "Security", and CHECK THE BOX that says Empty Temporary internet Files when browser is closed. That way every time you close the browser, it's clearing out your cache. Hope this helps. :-)

Thanks JD.
I'm on Chrome and as soon as I started to read your post it hit me.
I do remember clearing it out on all my PC's a few times, usually weekly.

Thanks for your time.

Thanks for all the input.  I cleared the cache in my browser (Chrome) as suggested by Rain and JD1813.  So far, so good.  Willard will not be missed.
