Has any one ever found that after saving a template and then loading it in a new session that all the panning and plugins are ok and all plugs are in place but the faders are all at0.0 yet the volume levels are staying the same as they were in the previous session ?

Hi Norrie,

I haven't noticed that. Is it causing a problem for you?

I'm wondering if it is because you might be expected to set levels independently across any projects that use the template, and so that parameter is not saved.

I'll have a look next time I am in X1. I have used track templates, I just can't remember noticing that volume fader info is saved with the template.

Hi Andy
Usually my Templates keep the fader level the same when they are loaded and it has done for projects I am currently doing for a friend but in one project ( the one I lost all the midi Data from recently it will not set them properly when loaded )

I usually just use it as a starting point for a specific drum sound and level. It is a bit of a pain but I can work round it.

I think there is more going on with my DAW than meets the eye at the moment and once I finish this project later today I will be ordering a SSD and doing a fresh install of everything I have jut had to many problems recently and weird errors

Might be worth hanging on until Windows 8 and X2 are released, unless you intend sticking with X1 for the time being. It's what I'll be doing anyway, for similar reasons.

Hi Andy

Sorry for the slow Reply.

I have so many things going on with my rig at the moment that I don't think I cant wait for X2

I plan to do a full reinstall in the next week - 2 weeks on a new SSD drive and adding an extra 12GB of ram to max out my mobo to 24 ( not that I need it but I may as well :)

I might hold off for the next X2 update at the end of the month and see if there is a release date with it but I think I might be better to get my system stable again with X1 then at least if there is any problems with x2 I know its not my system.... if that make sense ?

My system was very stable with no problems but now it is just problem after problem and crash after crash.

My most recent problem apart from the track templates not loading correctly all the time is that sometimes when I boot my computer I instantly have pops and crackles through any audio that is played through windows media or Sonar so I have to restart some times it fixes its self after a full restart sometimes I have to do it 2 or 3 times.

Just another pain haha

Loptec

it's been lots of talk about the offset-mode lately (for me anyway)
but this could actually have something to do with that as well,
if the faders are set at 0 and you still get other levels

see if theres a + next to the fader's level value. if there is you're in offset-mode. just hot the O-key and the faders will go back to the levels you hear

Thanks for that one Loptec I will check that one out later today. It only happens when loading the template in some projects though but worth a look :)

The faders should load at whatever level they were set at when the template was made. Of course, anything can change. I made a drum template and I have to constantly fix all the inputs even though they were right when I made the template.
