Guitarpima

I remember only 2 midi guitars. Casio and Charvel had one. The Charvel had to connect to a GTM-6 or something. It was so long ago.

The Roland SynthAxe, 303 and numerous others. The Ztar. The Stepp. Ibanez IMC 1. Then the PitchRider which retrofit any guitar and made it MIDI capable. Then the Roland GK-2 as part of the GR-50 package which could also retrofit any guitar and made it MIDI capable which is the foundation of all their newer gtr synth systems. Just off the top of my head, there were many more. Of course this encompasses both MIDI guitars and guitar-like controllers.

For what it's worth I use a GK-2 MIDI pickup on my Charvel/Jackson.

Were all those available in the early 90s? It seemed the topic went nostalgic so I did also.

Keep in mind that you might have to fiddle with quantizing, Fill, and Trim functions to get the music to look right. Remember, X1 will represent exactly what it's given, within the parameters you specify. You'll also want to limit the display resolution to the minimal note value used in that bass part (probably 16th's or 8's) otherwise you'll get a screen full of gibberish sometimes. Mathematically accurate gibberish, but unreadable just the same.

This is the best description of the Staff View ever posted. :)

And they wonder why we want improvements.

Well, you could and it will have the notes, but it may not be very easy to read because it often uses flags and not beams, and it doesn't put any articulations, no crescendo or decrescendo, no segno and coda, no repeats signs or 1st and 2nd endings, triplets or other tuplets are only sometimes indicated, and you can't add your own rests, etc.
