I posted this before but I finally finished the song.  There is a lot going on in this song and it presented a lot of interesting challenges, especially at the end to try to keep it somewhat clear.   I used automated EQ settings and compression to help in that regard.    I recorded, mixed and master this as well as played drums as well as added some keyboards in the middle quiet section.   Feedback welcome!

I tried the wav link did not work for me, so I went for the mp3.

I quite enjoyed it, for me the only thing I would be tempted to do would be when the female vox is accompanying/backing you would be to use channel tools to spread her vox either side of yours so you can hear you both, just my perspective.

The mix works well here sounds nice and balanced, perhaps back the drums off a touch but that would be a very personal thing.

Thanks for sharing.

Hey stxx. Wow! That's quite a production. Drums sounded great. "The Unknown Origins-Dark to Light", is such a provocative title...I would have liked to read the lyrics. Anyway I definitely enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing.   Jim

Actually, I somehow posted the wrong version :(  I corrected the link in the initial note as well as below.    I think Wookie will notice the difference but the other link had numerous issues.  Some of my plugin's were accidentally disabled setting the balance of the tracks off.   Enjoy and thanks for the feedback

Alan, quite different than your previous music (that I enjoyed a bunch).  I can't imagine you putting out anything that isn't top notch.  Bass player sounds good.  Shucks, I should have moved there.    You are the best drummer I have heard for years and your musicians are all top notch.  As I said in the past, your mixes are great!  So glad I decided to get my butt back up here.  You know, music like this brings you up a couple decades and it is relevant.  I'm excited to see what you are doing from here out.  Stay in touch.

He's baaaaack!  Just in time to catch some great music up here.  I've been off the grid.  I'm working on some of my old, old tunes that are some of my best.  I also set up my midi keys and am back to working with midi after a 15 year hiatus.  I've gotta wake Mark Cline up and get back to work.

This is what happens when you let your imagination run wild.  This arrangement appeals to me because it is so unpredictable and intelligent.  The production and performances are stellar, which adds up to a gem of a song.  I can't wait to hear more from you!
