Yes, there is more than 1 track, the other track plays fine all the way thru.  Highlighting the affected area and "Q" opens the Quantize option window nothing to do with mute options.  Velocities show to be fine.

The MIDI track view is a single clip but in that view, events are white and not light blue like the remainder of the track. ????

hello? do my messages not show?..
as I wrote before..
if you're in PRV you can select the muted area and right click on one of the note while holding down the alt-key...

Reading your comment while looking at your picture is just too funny!

haha.. yeah.. i'm thinking this may be the reason why people ignore my comments.. :P
(it's not the first time..)

the picture is of me deciding to do something stupid while my photo is taken on a party.. i guess i wasn't totally sober.. ;)

well.. if people decide to look at my picture instead of reading what I write I guess that's their problem... :P

I re-recorded the 24 measures of song in question.  Never had any of these ideas work.  It plays now but I would still like to know what might of happened.

It was not mentioned yet, you could use the Event List view to inspect/edit everything that is going on in a MIDI track in a simple list format.

was it a whole MIDI-clip that was muted? I just thought it was a section within a MIDI-clip.

to mute / unmute whole clips use the erase/mute tool (press F10 until you see an M on the tool) then click the muted clip

It was just the first 24 measures of a single MIDI clip.  I gave up and re-recorded the part.  I still have no idea what might have happened.  I can't go back and read the event view now as it is all gone now.  Thanks for all of your suggestions but I would still like to know what it was so as not to do it again.
