Fantastic that X1 now has HD frame rate....thank god. Now what i really need is for the Video Settings to be easier to use. When i'm working on an hour long video....say i'm writing a cue that is 20 minutes in....it needs to be easier to set it up. Right now i have to decide on where in the video i want the cue to start. Then i have to cut the dialog track at that point, and discard the first part, then drag the back part to the start of the cue. Then i set the TrimIn time to my chosen start time. Then i go to Properties/Clock page, and set the same start number there. Then i'm ready to go. All i really want to do is tell Sonar that i want to start the cue at a certain SMPTE time, and have it do the rest, including cutting the dialog track. That should be easy, right? If i'm missing something, a better way to do this....please someone let me know. thx Lou

That would be great if Sonar did that.

To get around this, I use Vegas to chop the video and make much smaller projects for each cue.  I wish Sonar could slip edit the audio and video tracks together like Vegas, then you could slide them around in the timeline.

using Vegas to chop the video is a workflow killer, a real time eater. And yes you need to able to start the video wherever you'd like, instead of only at the beginning of the cue. Much too much math to be done in my head using the Video Settings.
