I've just bought Garritan Personal Orchestra 5 and have a question regarding keyswitch "notes". 
 
I like to work simultaneously in PRV and Staff views for inputting note data. When I add a keyswitch command "note" in the PRV it also appears in the Staff view of course. Is there any way of preventing it from appearing in the Staff view as well, as I find this very off-putting !

Not sure there is a way to do that, but one thing you can do is set up two tracks feeding into the one keyswitch instrument.  One track for note entry the other to enter the keyswitch notes.  An easy way to do that would be to clone the instrument track before starting so you have two tacks for the same instrument.   One track for note entry, the other for keyswitch notes.  -M.F.

I have my keyswitch tracks in a separate track folder containing all tracks assigned to Garritan. All instrument tracks are in a separate track folder always kept right underneath the keyswitch folder.

Keyswitch timing is tricky. I try to get the keyswitch as close as possible to the note where the change occurs. Sometimes this can be very finicky but if you spend some time you will get it.

This is pretty much what I do.
If you have both MIDI tracks highlighted in the PRV, you can see the "faded" keyswitches when you're working on the notes, or vice versa.  Or you can only highlight the notes and focus on them.
 
I've found it easiest to have them both on one MIDI track while I'm building the basic track, then clone it and delete the keyswitches from the "performance" track and the notes from the "keyswitch" track.  Then tweak them separately as needed.

All my keyswitches have dedicated drum maps. 
 
This has the advantage of a) being totally clear exactly which note(s) you're working on and b) you can assign whatever name you want to each articulation.

At the moment I'm writing something as a GPO trial so all tracks are using GPO. I like your idea for when I'm using a number of different VSTs. Thanks for the suggestion.

I've just tried your suggestion and it gives me the result I'm after !  Combined with Sidroe's folder suggestion, this could be a way forward.

I've now tried this this as well. Another solution that works; I like being able to see the articulation name alongside the note input grid.
