Just finished a new build and X1c Producer is about the only thing on it so far. Got the demo for Stutter Edit and configured it as a synth in the plug in manager. However, when I try to add it as a Soft Synth in the effects bin it does not show up as a vst option. Instead it only shows up as an Audio FX. Downloaded the demo of iDrum from iZotope to see what that would do and that does show up as a Soft Synth with the exact same configuration for the plug in properties.

Any else running Stutter Edit with Producer X1c and how do you have it configured?

System specs:
Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium
Intel i7 3.2 GHz
12 GB RAM
Producer X1c

I received a reply from iZotope in case anyone runs in to a similar issue:

For this specific issue, you may need to manually force Stutter Edit to load as a Synth within Sonar. You can do this by following these steps.

1.) Open the registry editor by typing 'Regedit' in the "Start (menu) - 'Search programs and files' (dialog box)"

2.) Navigate in the registry editor to the following directory:

Computer\HKEY_Current_User\Software\Cakewalk Music Software\SONAR Producer\Cakewalk VST X64\Inventory\c:/program files/vstplugins/iZotope Stutter Edit.dll

***Please note that this directory may be slightly different as your default VST folder may include the 'Steinberg' sub-folder instead.

3.) Once you have navigated to this directory, please find the 'registerAsSynth' key, right-click it, and select 'Modify'. Please change the value to '1' and click 'OK'.

4.) Once this value is changed, please load Sonar and attempt to load Stutter Edit within the Soft Synth menu for the FX window.

i think you are confused because you use a controller with stutter edit and therefore think its a soft synth, its not a soft synth, its an audio effect triggered by a controller

No confusion since I have used other similar vsts in the past like Vokator. In the effects bin it has to be inserted as a Soft Synth rather than as an Audio FX since it is being activated by a controller. So I am not trying to insert as a Soft Synth such as Rapture or similar, I am trying to insert as a Soft Synth in the effects bin on an instrument track. Does that make sense?

Yeah - he's for sure got it right.  You have to enable it as a synth.  And I was running into problems getting that configuration to take effect and the process he outlined is the correct fix.

Many thanks gllcc!!
