Hi there. Does anyone know if there is any VST or RTAS for a scratching sound bcoz I can't find one in Sonar X1 Producer. This scratching sound is like those DJ that spins the disc in a club. This type of scratching sound is mostly use in R&B and Hip Hop songs. Thanks for the advice.

I think there might be some of that in the Dim Pro sounds but I couldn't tell you where. If not maybe try to swipe some from whatever you think sounds good and toss them in the loop constructor or something.

If you want to apply the scratch effect to your audio rather than just add samples of scratching, then ImageLine Grossbeat is good for this. There's also an old free vst called Turntablist Pro that's supposed to do something similar, but I've never tried it out.

I had exactly the same problem last week. I wanted a little bit of scratching to introduce an Indian singer (don't ask why). Ended up using Vinyl Boy - works in real time from the mod wheel of the keyboard. Try the demo.

For 19 Euros I'm very please with it - have a listen at my sound cloud link below to "Home Made 25 7" - first instance is at 3:26 quite low in the mix.

Traktor pro NI is on sale right now and is what I use for scratching, beatmashing, re-mixing, etc. Traktor scratch pro lets you control with a real record (timecode) on a real record player. Also has Turntable FX for just using the buttons.

The PCR line of controllers by Edirol will allow you to scratch in real time.

Thx, everybody for the reply. It has been helpful. skylightron: I have got PCR-500 but, may I know how do I use it to scratch in real time? Do u mean that I still need the soft synth to do it with my midi controller? Or I can just do it purely using the midi controller. Thx.
