Has anybody else experienced the spinning blue circle for 30-45 seconds loading some of the sounds?  Are they disk streaming sounds or are they caching to memory?

I have an extra SSD laying around, is it worth installing it and taking the time to migrate samples to it?  It is pretty fast and I do have SATA 3 slots for it.

Like all other CW sfz engine synths, all the samples are loaded into memory at once. The synths do not stream. Some programs are pretty big for example, Atmospheric > Atmos Harp uses ~2.43 GB. Most programs are nowhere near that size but must be read into memory completely before becoming available.

Thanks, that is the one I was seeing the issue worst with.  Will the SSD still help with faster transfer to memory?

Probably. I have the RPro samples on a Samsung 85 EVO SSD. Atmos Harp loads in around 2 secs. That program is an extreme example though. It is one of the few which cannot run in 32bit RPro.

Hi Guys,maybe you can help....

I just did a complete new install of my DAW (win8.1 -> win10 & Jamaica -> Newb.)
Up until now I had dimpro and rapture. RPro is a new install haven't had it before. I have a samsung 830sdd as my main drive and all installs in the default locations but also notice quite some delay on loading samples.
Further when I audition the sample from within RPro interface (with mouse on the piano on the bottom edge of the window) the sound stutters. It stutters after clicking a few notes. It is just as if max. polyphony is reached and next notes are not being played anymore but it's not just the last notes not being played -> all sound quits. Then half second later it's there again.
Any idea's??
Memory indicator in Sonar shows rather empty.... (I have 16Gb)

I disabled swap drive on this install...?!

SimpleM: did you get your system sorted?
Cheers

fwiw, and if you mean windows swap file, this is generally not recommended no matter how much ram you have

Update:
a) Sound interruptions: RPRO was running in demo mode.....strange as I installed through CCC and thought I had also run the standalone programme afterwards and had checked if it was registered (Maybe i only checked Z3TA & DimPro)
I read somewhere else someone was having problems with RPRO reverting back to demo-mode unexpectedly....I'll see next time.
b) Load times: most samples load 'instantly' i.e. I don't really notice any annoying delay. However the 2gb harp still takes around 1/2 minute!
Scook mentioned his daw with samsung 850evo ssd loads it in 2 seconds!
Wow....now I'm wondering how I can optimize?
@Scook: can't find any specs on your system....mind sharing with me. What OS, with or without updates, what hdd drivers (mobo or OS std. or intel)
Do you have your 850 in raid (1/2/5) configuration or standalone?
How many GB RAM, anything else earth mentioning....
Cheers Mat

Testing today with the current Win10 Home, Atmos Harp loads in 7 seconds. The samples are on the system drive, a single Samsung 850 EVO. The drivers are whatever Win10 Home installs. 16GB of RAM and an i7-4790K @ 4GHz. I also have virus scanning turned off for the samples.

Thanks Scook for testing. Yesterday was band rehearsal and i got some time at my DAW..... I have win10 pro, 16Gb RAM, i7-3750k @ 3.8GHz, no AV software, samsung 830 ssd as main & sample drive. CrystalDiscMark shows ca. 500Mb/s transfer speed for seq. read from that drive.
It constantly takes 17 seconds to load the Atmos Harp sample in RPro.

-> given the (small?) difference in our system specs; should mine load faster or is load time Ok.....

Maybe someone else with similar specs and RPro could test and post results?
