  • Anyone else find the Command Centre tedious? (p.4)

I don't use it. I download the installers I want from "My Products" on the Cakewalk site. I keep backup copies of the installers in case i need to roll back. It's what I've always done.

Maybe CC makes things easier for some, but for me, I didn't have any need for CC.

No need for the CC either.  My only gripe about manual downloads (which is far better in my opinion) is that when a monthly release comes out the Baker who posts it does not mention what are the new pieces in the release (like, the Engineering Suite has been updated, or those kinds of things).  Initially, and with the eZine, this info was part of the release information.  Now I have to hunt around to see what to download.  But, I prefer the manual downloads to control where and what I want to install.

Not really a fan either for the same reasons as have been mentioned already. I allow it to update my lappy which only has the base program installed so that I can refer to it when I need to while I'm doing www stuff anyway, but for my main DAW pc I just transfer the files I need from the lappy via USB stick.

I've always thought that CW's assertion that CCC gives them useful data re what percentage of people are using what OS is flawed as the PC that is doing the CC downloads is not necessarily the one that is actually being used to run sonar, so there are probably still way more W7 users out there than they think there are.

Here's my best CCC performance tip: if the latest SONAR update comes out on Monday, wait until Wednesday to get it.

I thought the OS usage figures were based on the analytics data collected from SONAR. I don't suppose you have a link about the Command Center collecting this data. Here is the ezine for 2016.09 containing info on OSes used,

I believe its just Sonar itself that uses analytics not Command center.

I don't have a link, so maybe I've just misunderstood that it is sonar itself and not the ccc that collects the data. You will certainly know far more about that than me. However, the point still remains as data collected via sonar will still be skewed by those with offline DAW's and those who choose not to allow data collection.

The ezine link is not working btw (tried 5 times to open it)

It is true those never connect to the internet or have analytics turned off are not counted but there is no reason to assume anything about that population either.

I cannot help you with the link. I just opened it again. All the ezines are also linked on this page.

I've never had a problem with the CC. It's always worked smoothly. I get, 76 Mbps download.

I have abut 20 items I don't need to see hidden. XLN and Melodyne for example. I think it scans quicker when things are hidden, but I'm not 100%

Shames it scans every time you hide and item

And they are restored when logging out/in.

The C3 could stand an update.
