Thanks guys, some good info to take in and consider my choices.

To throw it into a harder choice I have been offered, a as new M-16DX mixer/interface for £250 which is a very very good price, so now its even harder to make my mind up LOL. Wish I could make things easy for myself   But I really want to make a choice not to regret.
