Melodyne editor is the only one with DNA

I'm hoping it will compliment Melodyne.  I find the DNA technology to be fun and with the right track can do very creative things.  I once changed the bass and horn lines in an excerpt from Brick House as a test, and while not all the results were perfect, it wasn't all that bad.      I'm picturing R-Mix being along the same lines, but instead of changing melodies or copying blobs for harmonies, it'd be more like plugging a mixer into a stereo track and using its faders, pan knobs, EQ and inserts to adjust each channel.     I can dream...

Yeah I'd imagine that would be the case. Both in the same kind of tool genre, but doing different things. You could use them both well together, I imagine.

Actually does V-Vocal operate in a similar manner over the whole spectrum? Maybe I can just do some rough stuff for fun that way for now.

V-Vocal can only handle monophonic. It'll probably spaz out if you get it to analyse something complex.

I hear ya'! :) I think we all have dreamed of a piece of software that would break a stereo track into individual components that could be completely be re-mixed to our liking. When that becomes available it will turn the engineering world upside down. I think Celemony is in the infant stage of this right now. Who knows what the future holds with technology. I'd like to re-mix Axis Bold As Love! Yes?

In addition, the scenario I described above was one of the things we lost when multitrack tape went away. With that you could re-mix Axis Bold As Love provided you could get your hands on the masters. :)

This is wicked cool stuff, guys. I've tried to wrap my head around the crazy in depth notch filtering stuff but really for me having a more visual way to maneuver around the stereo waves will be useful. I've done stuff like clone the same track to draw out elements, tweak them and then smoosh them back together again and things sounded better but not nearly where I'd like them to be. Just gotta keep learning, eh. Cheers.

Thanks, stevec. That is a little more sane. Hope you've been well.

No problem.      I'm keeping busy as always.  The Scarlett is still working well.    Although, I have since figured out what caused my initial issue where I had to unplug and replug the device - adjusting the Scarlett mix control outputs while SONAR is still open.  I won't be doing that again.

Back on topic...

Exactly!  At least that's the idea.

I hadn't even thought about breaking out old classics like that, but I like it...
