I have an e-mu 0404 interface. Via this input my drum module will trigger (example) a piano plugin but not session drummer 2 or native studio drums. The midi traffic indicator on the e-mu and the task bar both show activity and the input on the track is set to see chnl 10 (other chnls tried) from the e-mu. I can click the pads in SS2 and hear it as well the loops within SS2 will play. Even the piano plugin can be triggered via the same input. Also, my midi controller keyboard has the same result. I am totally stumped, please help and thanks in advance. Everything is fresh install and OS is XP SP3.

Are you using a drum map or programming your drum controller to send the correct note numbers? You should get a Kick when you play the C two octaves below middle C on your keyboard (note number 36).

Try and use Omni for your input. I dont have Session drummer set up, but maybe its your input and maybe it needs to be set to omni.

Also, can you trigger any sounds form the PRV?

Thank you for the reply. I don't think pad/note assign is the problem due to the midi keyboard and the drum module both have the same result: no trigger session drummer, yes trigger other vst.

Thank you also for the reply. I can trigger other vst via any channel including omni with keyboard and drums, just not session drummer. That's why this problem makes me crazy! Trouble shooting via elimination is a process I'm familiar with. And I am one of the wackos that actually read manuals and help files

So what note number are you sending, specifically?

Also, is SD set up as a Simple Instrument or with separate MIDI track(s) and multiple audio tracks to host its multiple outputs?

If it's a Simple Instrument track, try splitting to separate MIDI and Audio tracks, and verify the MIDI track is echoing input to its output. If not, and you're relying on "Always Echo Current MIDI Track" in MIDI preferences, try forcing Echo On.

Do you have a MIDI track with the output set to Session Drummer?

And have you got a kit loaded?
