Two reasons: 1-I used Sonar/Cakewalk for MIDI sequencing for a long time and a Roland VS-1680 for recording, so X1 with a V-Studio 700 was a gentle learning curve. 2-The plug-ins and instruments bundled with Sonar make it an exceptional value. On the negative side, I personally do not have a stable installation but I think my rig was set-up wrong initially.

I love it,everything i need is in the software and it works better than some of other top software packages you can buy.once you've learned the software it is a breeze to use. take time to learn the software........

For my needs of musical composition . . . I've seen no other software in the DAW world that does it better.
For mixing and mastering, I think Sonar has made some major leaps with X1, to begin to compete in these categories as well.

DAW I come back to - It isn't perfect by a long stretch, but none are.
