PCR-500 SONAR 8.5 Studio 8.5.2 update dMAP brings up all the right screens for plug-in synths and i can make & hear control changes (like filter cutoff) but SONAR won't record these changes - just MIDI note/pitch bend/ & mod lever i've tried all the suggestions to no avail any ideas??

Do you have Controller enabled in the Midi Record Options?

yeah - i've been all thru the usual stuff it's the damndest thing - it all works great except i just can't record my parameter changes... i can even modify a track after i've recorded it with the PCR ...!! i've tried all the suggestions on previous posts too i must be missing something

Did you create a new value type in the PRV for the controller data you want to record? Sorry if you've been through all this but without knowing what you've already tried and ruled out, all we can do is go through the list of obvious potential culprits.

1st i've heard of this (and thanks for your help)... i just want to do simple stuff like record my filter sweeps & ADSR settings as i play like i usually do in REASON i'm an old analog guy (had one of the 1st minimoogs in 1972) and i did retail/wholesale for 30 years... i know enough to screw things up... i had no problem doing this with an old M-Audio Radium... and like i said, it works great just playing the soft synths ... i love the control - i just want to record it

Record it where? In the event list or on a track? In the PRV, there are options for what is shown in midi tracks. Check to see if you have the right boxs checked to show those control messages. Upper left hand side, there are two buttons with drop down lists.
