So during my install I chose not to install guitar rig, now I am thinking it would be fun to try out. How can I install just guitar rig? Thanks!

Just run the installer again and deselect everything *but* GR4 LE.   That should do it.

Ok, I tried it and all it wants to do is install X1, it doesn't give me any choices for guitar rig?

I think it's on the second or third DVD.

Keep in mind that the upgrade to GR5 is still live at $49.50 for a few more hours (July 31st it ends), so if you're quick you can cash in on the deal. But you'll need GR4LE installed and registered first..

I don't have the DVD, only the download from Cakewalk.

You have to place in DVD 1 for X1 and when you get to the choices to select the items to install, deselect everything and then ONLY select Guitar Rig 4 LE.  You will be promted for the Original Sonar X1 Serial and Registration Key, BUT WAIT!!!!!  This will cause problem when you restart Sonar.

NOW hold on, because I did this the other day and my Sonar Expanded was hosed.  IF you updated to Sonar Expanded or any other Version that gives you a newer serial and registration code, then your Sonar will revert back to the original Sonar X1 and not work because it is the Expanded version but it has the original X1 serial in it now.

I had to send an email to Tech support for them to tell me how to fix the problem with a registry hack.  I got my email back today and I am going to apply the hack to see if I can get my Sonar working again.

I have the expanded version of X1, Production suite actually. I think I should have installed it when I first installed X1, no biggie. I guess I can go without it.

If you first started out with Expanded and never had Sonar X1, then you should be fine.

If you went from Sonar X1 >  to Sonar Expanded ... then you will get hosed and your Sonar will not work because you will have to first add the old serial and Reg key to Get Guitar Rig from the DVD.
