Beagle
Any more!  I used to!  I used to take 2 of them purple pills a day PLUS 2 pantoprazole per day (both as prescribed by my intestinal doc).  AND I'd pop TUMS all day long like they were candy.

I had severe GERD, bad enough that I would wake up in the middle of the night with acid in my throat and my trachea would close up as a reflex and I couldn't breathe.  it was kind of like an asthma attack, but wasn't caused by the same thing asthma is caused by and so inhalers wouldn't open my trachea.

this went on for a sevearl years.  I also had severe abdominal pain (which hasn't 100% completely gone away) and had my gall bladder removed because it was full of stones and was causing me pain.

I was also on high blood pressure meds.

BUT! now I've lost 73 pounds (so far) and I've been mostly pain free ever since!  I'm no longer taking ANY PPIs AND I'm completely off of my high blood pressure meds!

I weighed almost 310 pounds and I'm 5'9" a year ago - BMI was 45.5.  Here's a pic of me in London in mid March of 2015:

Here's a pic of me a couple of weeks ago:

I had lap band surgery in June 2015.  I had lost 30 pounds before the surgery and over 40 since then and I'm still losing!

NO MORE NEXIUM!!!!  NO MORE XFORGE!  NO MORE WAKING UP NOT BEING ABLE TO BREATHE!!!

Way to go, Beagle!!  I could stand to be lighter, but ...

I've been taking Nexium for over a decade due to an uncorrected hiatal hernia developed during an appendicitis attack that ended with a ruptured appendix.  Thanks to the wonders of military medicine, I was told to eat however many antacids I needed to eat to make the symptoms go away.

Years later, a civilian doctor discovered my Barrett's condition, which thankfully hasn't worsened since.  I've been told to plan on taking Nexium the rest of my life.

Proud of you brother. I know it's been a struggle, but you have come a very long way. It's inspirational, to say the least.
