Hey anyone..My question this time around....is with regard to my new M -Audio project mix. I was running a M-audio fast track pro as my main and only audio interface. upon installing the drivers of the project mix, Sonar no longer sees the input and out of the fast track pro ..Only those of the project mix. I have not completed my midi and control surface set up in the preference menu, do I then have to change all the inputs of my projects / and outs as well ...Or will it be done automatically ? because at this juncture I get no sound... Sonar is telling me that the inputs and out are in silent mode and to be assign

You question is a little confusing but what I'm guessing is you are trying to run two ASIO audio interfaces at the same time?? yes? You have to disconnect the one you don't want to use. ASIO only supports one interface driver at a time. You can even change devices with Sonar open, it will just warn you of missing device and then ask permission to connect.

That's the way it was with cubase also...
People do get around this with using ASIO4all now I guess.
Not anything I've done but I've seen people using two interfaces with it.
Well not seen them, read their posts.

Hey Thanks...
You are correct ! it will not allow it. Ok that issue is solved. I have spent the day reading up on My Project Mix and I am beginning to make sense of it all. Sorry for the confusion within my question.

Hey man... Thank you for replying to my somewhat confusing question. Your idea of using ASIO 4 all would not have worked.. Cakewalk support team suggested I did not. however my problem is solved and I now have a clearer understanding ... Will be in touch if there is any more stress in setting up project Mix device
Cheers Mate

If you're using a M-Audio device that has its own drivers, you should not be using ASIO4ALL.

ASIO4all should have a different name so people do not actually think it is an ASIO driver. How about "Band Ade WDM/KS".
