does melodyne use rewire?(please forgive me if this sounds like a follish question.

Nope, either insert or stand alone.
As far as I know anyway.
And I've been using Melodyne for about 4 years now.

Sorry Mike but you are wrong. The new Melodyne editor 2 work in rewire mode too!
I would recommend you use it in VST format as you do but you can use Melodyne Editor 2 in rewire-mode too. There are 4  rewire channels. Rewire are available and work in x64bit host too.

Melodyne Studio 3 version (only x32) that I also have you can use in rewire or Melodyne bridge mode. These days there are no need of Melodyne Studio 3 it far much better and flexible to use Melodyne editor 2 x64 as VST plugin.

Thanks Freddie, I did not know that.
Probably because I never saw the need to use it that way.

Chuck, what would be the benefit of re-wiring Melodine?

JBridge is definately the way to go for running 32 bit applications.  Sorted out all my problems.

For some reason I couldn't get J-Bridge to work for me,but it doesn't matter,as the Bit Bridge is working fine for any 32bit plugs I like[Ferric TDS,Tessla Pro,Ambience],though I do wish a 64bit version/update for Perfect Space, would become available,as that is one amazing reverb[IMO],but it can throw my laptop over the edge.
Cheers
