Why select None in the MIDI channel menu?

In the Track View there's an Input an Output and a MIDI channel selector. There are usually 16 MIDI channels in the MIDI channel selector menu and the option 'None.' Under what circumstances would you want to select None? Thanks - rev

I almost always use None unless I'm trying to limit what I'm receiving. None is probably a misnomer because in Sonar it means ALL or OMNI mode.

Yeah, that's a hell of a misnomer, All is the opposite of None... :)
