  • plugin manager: possible to 'deep link' to instruments hosted inside mother VST (Kontakt)?

ahoy, community;

I'd like to arrange my plugins by instrumental contexts so it's easier to not miss out on an item that could do a certain sound. Now, Komplete 8 offers an abundance of instruments which are more often than not hosted under Kontakt or Reaktor.

I'm wondering if it's maybe possible to do a trick that allows me to put entries into the plugin manager like "Kontakt 5 > {some_instrument}" which will add an instance of Kontakt with the specified instrument already loaded, instead of just loading a generic Kontakt instance and then do my rummaging in there.
Would also be nice for Reaktor, e.g. add a Reaktor instance with the Spark or Skanner ensemble already selected (like "Reaktor > Spark" etc.).

Is such a feat attainable?
It would be really nice to be able to group instruments by main characteristics inside the DAW.

Thanks for any help you may be able to offer! Best regards, Saur

I would set up track template(s) and store them in an organized manner.

Some of the synths do have a huge number of sounds.....and  searching for that "one" sound can be daunting as well as time consuming.

Currently, I do not know of a way to do this other than to make a list of the ones you like in some sort of organized way.

Kontakt does have things listed & halfway organized in it, but I agree, some of the other synths do not.

I have been meaning to install that is it a good tool to use or is it a pain in its own right? Personally I have been engaged in making a list of vsti's in a notebook and taking notes on each synth on which presets are good. Its a pain to do but unless you do this you start from scratch each time you open a synth wish we had a favorites folder for each synth. I like to use rewire to open Reaper to audition vsti's because it allows me to use my up and down key to surf presets and its even easier for me to load new banks of presets. Has anyone figured out how to surf presets in a faster way inside x1? how do you even load a bank in x1?

@Miguelito: that's actually a pretty nifty idea for grouping individual instruments by main characteristics. :) Thanks! I'll give that a try for top-level organization. @Pwal: whoa, that looks like the ticket for in-depth-scouring. I'll most definitely have a closer look at that one! Thanks! Thank youze! :) LX

bit miffed;
installed Zen and played with it a little, but of the umpteen VSTs i run it only recognizes Kontakt 5 and Z3+a (not even  Z3+a 2). This as a caveat to whoever follows.

So I guess I'm sorta back to Square One :/

@saur: Yea I use them a lot and they are very organized. As an example I have a folder for Scarbee Bass with several templates such as, Rock(Heavy), Rock(Metal), Rock(Pop) etc.

Because evrything is all set up I pull the template in and I am good to go though generally I may do some tweaking once in Kontakt.

You can create a track with your VSTi setup with the patch or patches ie sounds you want and save it as a track template.

When I recall a Kontakt or other template it loads with the sound/s I set when I saved the template including any fx and their settings.
