I think X3 is noticeably better than X2. Noticed some hiccups, but not too bad and X3e may resolve them. Used lots of soft synths ("Razor", "Endless", "Dimension", "Ultra-Analog") and some Korg Trinity, X5d and Kronos.
 
Anyway, I'm proud of the result. This album is symphonic/electronic and was the soundtrack for a space, sci-fi play, "The Last Mission of Cassini Seven".

I guess this might be a good time to mention that I used NASA recordings of Apollo 11 astronauts.

I also think it is fun to combine traditional instruments (orchestra) with non-traditional (dub-step bass). My musical philosophy is that all tools are viable if they contribute to an interesting and pleasing result. Thoughts?

I've also found that it is getting harder and harder to gain traction (even among my social circles) getting people to listen to music. Have you found any approaches that are successful without being annoying to others?

I will mention that Diego Stocco's tutorial on "Rhythmic Processing" was worth the $10. It definitely got me thinking about effects routing in new and interesting ways. I used this on "The Galaxy Next Door".

Oooh, another recommendation: "PanCake" a free VST for automated pan adjustments (according to patterns). And if you like that, there is a volume modifying one that costs 10 or 20.
