Remember the rave about the Antares mic modeler...then it got shoved under the carpet.  Is Slate's the new improved, 2016 version... ?  and opening a can of worms...better than moving an inch different, from the mic?  I can appreciate the quality of stuff like this, but it seems like many Pensado videos, where there is no audible difference between A and B.   In one of Slate's interviews... I think with Warren Huitt, (produce like a pro), I think Steven even comments how one of his clients didn't even prefer his coveted 47, over a $500 condenser. So...it's like....yes you can try all these variations with his software, but I think there's something else going on...  Like I can't hear enough of a difference!!
Oh well.... I guess that's what Marshall amps do to ya.

Well, got these Virtual Preamps in Slate's VMR rack (without the mic since it's not released yet).
Still have to try them out with my regular Rode NT1A mic.
I wonder why so few preamp plugins exist. There's UAD 620 and Waves Kramer Channel strip and Scheps 73, but not many more. Yet I believe that, if you have a neutral interface, this should be great to add color and tone. Going to test this with a Propellerhead Balance.
