Maybe I have more of a jazz background, but this one worked for me. I got locked into the bass line in the first 0:30. After that? All good!
 
Kind of reminds me of the crossover jazz being made in the early 70's, like Donald Byrd's "Stepping Into Tomorrow," crossed with a bit of Bootsy Collins, crossed with a little bit of Marcus Miller.
