The Band19
That's how I like my women? Bound and loved... I may give it a less busy drum track, with the guitars, it feels like it needs to be slower "during the slow part" on the faster part, the drums seem to fit very well with it.

I don't want them talking to me, unless it's in response to a question about their paternal heritage...

I liked your song …. even though I couldn't turn it up as much as I wanted to at this lovely hour

Yeah , you sound creative …..and you want to know something ?
be prepared for people online at some of these other forums to treat you with indifference …we don't do that here

This is pretty cool! Very much an indie vibe, with some shredding thrown in for good measure. Nice, clean mix, though the snare gets just a tad monotonous. Very creative, for sure.

Lynn - much thanks, seriously.  I hope I have planted that seed, you speak of.  And yes, I will continue to listen and give back as well.  In fact, tonight is looking good for that so far...

The Band19 - critique noted.  Funny thing is, I was originally going for an even busier drum track during the clean guitar parts - subtle snare rolling type stuff, but busy nonetheless.  I was disappointed at how slow it actually ended up.

Kenny - thanks, and yes, you're right, you guys are a lot more generous here in terms of feedback.  It is appreciated.

dcumpian - thanks for your ear.  And I agree, the snare was kind of bothering me too so I guess I haven't dealt with that effectively enough.  I tried to throw in more tom hits and so forth, but it's still too monotonous.

Nice one!  This has a  very definite indie and commercial feel to it.  However, for me the changes that you have built into this number make it kind of refreshing and certainly take it away from the formulated boredom that comes across commercial radio.
Lynn makes a valid point when he stated that "We're all atoms in a huge sea..."  However, most participant on this forum are very good about responding and you will get some very good (and honest) feedback.

I get what your wife meant by the Jekyll and Hyde thing. I wasn't expecting it. After the song started, I felt that a certain vibe had been established. Then you totally took me by surprise. Very cool! I love what you did with the vocals. Nice job on those. You have a great imagination, and it was displayed nicely in this song. I thought the mix sounded good too. Nice job man. Keep em coming.

Excellent - this is my cup of tea.

Your voice really reminds me of Thomas Dolby

Freddy J - thank you sir!  I have received the most response here at this forum, which means a lot.  I am still disappointed in the dead response on other boards though.  If a song really moves someone, they'll respond.  So, it is what it is.

Leadfoot - so yeah, Jekyll and Hyde.  I guess it never seemed that way to me since it was conceived from a Fleetwood Mac phase.  Sounds nothing like them..ha ha.  I can't explain it.  I am glad it took you by surprise though - that surprise, and really unpredictability too, is a quality in music that I miss in commercial, that I'm constantly looking for in my own.  I love not knowing what's going to happen next, and the possibility that it could be anything.

Makke - thanks.

daryl1968 - Thomas Dolby huh?  Just need a little more accent, I think.

Hey mate,

This is really good, simple, catchy, and may I say those burst of guitars make it very interesting.

This forum is a kind of family, so you will get responses. Do not beat yourself up over a platform like ultimate guitar, thats the general public, 90% don't give a ****.

You see this is bordering on Indie, lets face it, that isn't exactly "mainstream" and ultra radio friendly, but I really wouldn't change a thing about this song. It would deserve a place on one of your albums without doubt.

For this genre, it really needs real drums to be radio friendly fully, but it didn't bother me, the song is writing is all there.

Your vox are awesome.

Regards
