I've been having a heck of a time understanding with these instruments. Is anyone else using them?
I'm not sure if I can "add library", well, I can't but I don't know it I should be able to. Both have .nkr and .nki. I can't find any multis. IT just does not seem like everything is there. I've downloaded twice and installed at least twice, I may delete and install again. I used WinRAR, maybe 7-Zip will do better. It is confusing to me, I don't know if everything is there.
Dennis at Bolder has been helpful with renewing DL links and has been available to call but I have not yet done that. I will have time Tuesday to call him but I thought I'd ask here, maybe someone is using Bolder Sounds and can clue me in. I did burn the .rar files to DVD-R when I downloaded them so I can redo as needed. I just bought Kontakt before Christmas on sale and it is still a little confusing. As I said in the other thread, when I updated yesterday, the icon on my desktop turned from Kontakt to blank and is broken. The only Kontakt I now have is through Sonar.
Oh, I also noticed that when I am able to load a couple of instruments from Bluegrass Banjo (Bolder) into Kontakt, some have a BI icon and some have a Reason icon... I've never had Reason.
Just more confusing DAW nonsense. I'm glad Sonar is not confusing. 
Anyone using Bolder Sounds? I can open it and tell you what I see. Some items in the 'tree' don't do anything when I click them. It makes me wonder if everything is there. I suspect it is as much not understanding Kontakt than anything else, but I feel like something is missing.
Dennis has been very quick to respond though and I would buy again. I am sure that if I can't figure it out he will help me.

these are not Kontakt Player libraries, at least the versions I have are not. So no, you can't "add library", you have to access them through the files browser or quick-load.

And YES, this is one of the all time most confusing "features" of Kontakt. Really- they couldn't find a better way to differentiate their products? FWIW, I do support for a sample library developer, and more than half the questions we receive seem to revolve around the difference between player and non-player libraries.

In other matters -

First of all, excellent choices. I play mandolin and banjo, but frankly, his libraries sound better than my instruments (I really need to buy better instruments), so I use the libraries more often than I care to admit.

Second - there are no multis, these are relatively simple libraries that do what they purport to do, without a lot of extra stuff. In some ways that is a good thing, but dang, one could have a lot of fun with these samples<G>!

Next - I use 7zip because I lost my license file for WinRAR, and I don't feel like paying for it again, especially since 7Zip seems to do everything I need (except batch uncompress, I do miss that.) You should have no problems with either.

Last - ignore the icons and other cruft - these are issues that plague pretty much any software that tries too be cross-platform, same as the goofy ds_store files you'll find from time to time.

Enjoy your libraries, and holler if you have any other questions.

THANK YOU!!! I will watch it tomorrow. Playoffs coming on, lol. I've been on the NI forum too. The update to 5.5.2 removed my stand-alone player, "Locate" cannot find the application so I'm going to have to reinstall the whole thing. I hope this is not standard OP for NI products, I've put nearly half a day in this update mess so far.
