  • Best way to increase tempo

I need to increase the tempo of a song, which is in the form of a single stereo wave file, including a vocal.  I followed the Sonar instructions to first turn it into a Groove Clip Loop, and then inserted a tempo change in the Project Tempo dialog box.  I got a terrible result: actually a slower tempo, a doubling of the vocal, and extra vibrato added.

Does Sonar actually have a valid way of accomplishing this?  Or should I use Melodyne instead?  I just got the Studio version 4, but would have to get up to speed in it, and I'm in a bit of a rush, so would like to use Sonar if I could.  I have both Platinum and X3 Producer versions of Sonar, but had the same problem with both.....Thanks.

Ctrl+Shift drag the clip shorter to the desired length, then if that seems about right, bounce the clip for better fidelity.
