Tastefully done.

Nice Dan. If you wrote and sung it, your voice fits your style well. Not my favorite genre but you did a great job (and I probably need to listen again to the recording because the first time I was focused on the songwriting and your voice!).

Great work Dan, I do like your voice, it's the standout in the song for me.

Well done Dan! Instrumentation is very well done and mixed. Your voice does work well with this song. My only crit (and a slight one it is), is that I would like more "air" on your voice. That's it.

Regards,
Dan

Thanks.

This is a song by a group called Lone Star.  It was a special request of one of the brides.  I hadn't heard of them or the song.  This is the third recording I have made that I didn't do the backing tracks.  I purchased these for the ridiculous price of $.99.  Hell, I would have paid twice that (heh, heh) to get out of a week's work playing, programming and mixing that and may not have ended up with as good a result.

So, anyway, thanks for listening.

Oh, dcumpian, on you comment, I sang through a Shure Beta 58 covered with a black cotton sock.  I hate pop screens... Maybe that's why it needs air... although the sock was clean... ;o)  The only other microphones I have are a 57 and a Studio Project C1, which is a Chinese large diaphragm mic.  I could probably get an "airier" sound with it, but I never liked it.  It's just not suited to my voice.

Dan, if I ever got remarried, you could sure sing a song for me.  I think one of your greatest gifts is phrasing (as well as great vocal texture), and that is a talent that's sometimes missing by others.  You make a 58 sound good, but try white and argyle socks, as well.

Thanks, but white argyle tends to brighten the highs and accentuate silibance.  ;o)
