I love the sparseness of it till near the end.

Ah, the singing is fine and good, but well, the one piano chord in the chorus is just plain - ah - not right.
The third time you are just hitting I guess the root note of what the chord should be. Well, to me it sounds wrong, but the singing is fine throughout the song.
 
That's my take on it, and I have to live with that.
