Mr Meloydne put out a bunch of vids (the main one in different languages too), about the new version.

However, actually after watching a couple vids, yeah...you can distort the note in a zillion ways, most seemed non-musical (useless?) to me.  Touch ups and such are really useful, and especially the poly stuff in editor.  But making an acoustic gtr sound like crap, doesn't seem up my alley.  IOW, the demo manipulation seemed poor.  Like horrible presets in a new VSTi

I had a slightly different reaction to the videos, I was impressed with how creative one could be with sound design, etc. And I don't do a lot of that myself, so I could understand not using those features much. I suspect it's one of those things that you have to play with and experiment with and could come in very handy in an unexpected way. Besides all that, I think Studio 2 does a nice job of pitch correction without sounding artificial, and it also does  nice job with formant changing or preserving. So I look forward to upgrading and seeing what else I can do with it. But mostly, I just like being able to correct my intonation issues and not have to re-take every vocal I do.
BTW, anyone else impressed with the inventor's house? Wow, nice digs! Plus you have to have confidence to do those videos in your bare feet!

I have tested MS4 for a couple of days now. It is great in all that it does.
It sounds great, has very low system resource usage, does great at tuning up anything, and the multi track view works great as well.
For those that are not impressed, you really show what the Melodyne videos for this.
They really did a super job.
The auto tempo mapping is excellent!

At first you see the new features and think they are pretty nifty but after a bit more of reading and watching and seeing what they can actually do for you... holy crap!!

Tempo mapping to all tracks in the project, great idea. I'm also impressed with the small footprint with regards to the memory usage, having a 32bit install this feature is also much appreciated.
The poly note detection seems to work better and I'm having a ball working with 2 vocalists on the same microphone, then being able to adjust the pitch of just one of those vocals.
Melodyne is one of only 3 or 4 FX that I use outside of the ones that come preinstalled outside of Sonar. It really is a very complimentary product to use with Sonar.
