After having a new oak floor installed in my studio, I decided that having all my guitars on stands or hanging didn't really work for me anymore. After looking at numerous guitar racks online, I didn't see anything that really solved the issues of having more than 6 guitars and all the related doohickeys, tools, etc. So, I decided to design and build what I wanted. It needed to hold more than 6 guitars and have storage for the extra stuff and have a work bench component. After not doing any wood working since I was in high school but having pretty much all the tools I needed I went to work. Here she is! Solid Red Oak. I haven't installed the drawer pulls yet, but its functional.

Your new rack looks great .
At my age I find this much more interesting to look at than a set of Granny's knee knockers
Nice touch with the work area on the top for setting up your guitars ...
Under that top section , are those drawers that you haven't put handles on ? BTW...nice wood grain ...
Does that come in a Right handed version for guys that aren't lefties ...opps couldn't resist

Damn that looks nice. Much better than my own way with individual stands:

Maybe I should have built something like that instead of joining a guitar building class. (My new telecaster to be is on the gluetable on one of the pics)

Thanks Herb, I was pretty selective about the boards I chose. Red Oak is very dense and a real bear when it comes to cutting and sanding. It's a real blade killer.

That I am James. I currently have 12 guitars and this rack has room for 9. My plan is to build another just like it in the spring. Just between us guys, my thoughts are that I'll need to buy 6 new guitars to fill it up. We can't have all those empty spaces now can we?
