Robbie, The real question you might ask yourself is do you really live in our house!! Think about it. All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. This means there is no perfecting in any man of this earth, even you.

Peace and Blessings, John

Last time I checked, I didn't try to commit mass murder because others don't believe as do I?  I don't think he lives in my house...

There's a good reason why religion and politics are outside the TOS.

Refreshingly different... I could use a little more bass.  Good composition.

By the way I don't know if I every mentioned I like your fedora in you picture on your website... I too am a fedora fan.

Exactly... Which is why my comment was on topic? i.e., I don't think this guy lives in my house? i.e., I don't think we all live in the same house... Nothing about Mama, or trains, or prison? Or getting drunk... My comment was about "houses..." which was most certainly on topic. I still don't think he lives in my house. Nor do I think we all live in the same house? It's a nice thought, but it simply is not true, if it were? Well... Things would be much better than they are. But they aren't, they haven't been, and they never will be (unfortunately). Things are built on different houses, and your ability to get out of yours and in to a better one. (again, still on-topic, not talking about anything other than "housing") And who lives where. I can't control how others may take that.

James, something tells me he wouldn't be welcome at your place either... Different Houses? Not one... And good fences make good neighbors ;-) At least that's what history teaches? But what does history know? Other's have tried to put us in the same house? Trust me... It doesn't end well :-( It's happened many times? And it has NEVER ended well... AGAIN! Just a housing discussion  IMO, we do not all live in the same house. If so, we set off H-Bombs at Bikini Atoll? I hope someone left the fart fan on... (don't go in that part of the house.)

A nasty part of the house indeed... Behold Castle Bravo, that's 15 megatons... A cute little piece of the sun on earth? If we all lived in the same house? No one would need one of these... (but we need them, and we have them) You can watch it burn holes through successive layers of the atmosphere, it is truly devastating. And this was in the 1950s (1954), tomorrow will be 70 years ago? We're much more "advanced" now. No need for weapons like this if in fact we all live in the same house? In fact, no need for weapons at all? I got dibs on the top bunk. Oh and, "we're going to get intimate..." After all, we all live in the same house? Now be a dear and pick up that copy of Pravda on the floor? (thanks hun) That's right, way down there? Lower... Lower... Right there! Isn't the same house FUN? I'll be needing your dinner too... I didn't get enough? Thanks! I'm never leaving this house! (Neither are you comrade...)

(it's about houses... we should all live in the same one, doesn't it sound perfect?)

Freddy, this is a very cool play on the one liner, its stook in my head!

Youve got some good guitar skillz.

How about some 80's style female backing with "same house" after the chorus main line???

Anyway, well done sir.

Thank you for all the responses to this number.  Normally I try to answer each response individually but I had not anticipated so many responses so quickly.  I also noticed a wee bit of tension in a couple of the responses and felt that I should address this.  it certainly was not my intent to create any tension but it was and is my intent to do the exact opposite.  It also was not my intent to be political or introduce any religious ideas.  Rather this was just a bit of social observation on my part.  Yes, I did use a phrase from a politician and used his picture as an icon to the song but I do believe that credit should be offered where credit is due.

I also believe that the experience of John Lewis is a perfect example of the effectiveness of logical, well intentioned behavior and the courage of two men.  These two men are Rep. Lewis and Mr. Elwin Wilson.  If you are unfamiliar with Mr. Wilson, he without mercy or compassion severely beat Mr. Lewis during a freedom ride in South Carolina during the early 1960's.  Apparently, upon reflection, several years later Mr. Wilson sought out Mr. Lewis and with sincerity apologized to him begging his forgiveness.  This is the first act of courage.  In a second act of Courage Mr. Lewis forgave him and upon meeting both embraced in tears.  IMHO this act demonstrated the courage of two men and defines what humans and humanity should be all about.  It is also the behaviour that inspired this song.  Is this type of be behaviour possible?  Of course it is.  Is this type of behaviour probable?  That is your call.

My reference in using the phrase "... the family of man" was simply a reference to the current human taxonomic classification utilized by the overwhelming majority of taxonomists (e.g., Species -- sapiens,  Genus  -- Homo,  Family --  Hominidae).

In answer to a couple of comments concerning the tech.'s of the song:  female BGV's after the main chorus line --  good idea, I'll have to see if I can find some one to do the singing (all the women I know -- and they would admit it -- couldn't hold a note in a bucket, and my falsetto is terrible   lol);  needs more bass  --  I sure can't argue with that, good observation;  and yes indeed, I love those fedoras.  I have four of them (what a theme for a song).

I hope this clears things up a bit.  Thanks to everyone that listened and especially to those who commented.  I do very much appreciate it.

Regards
