I currently have Melodyne Editor and it is an indispensable tool, especially with the awesome ARA integration within SONAR. However, some of the features of the new Melodyne Studio have me drooling...especially the quantize to reference track feature.

A lot of people I record are entry-level musicians, so even recording to a click track is often too difficult. This makes the tempo mapping features extremely attractive to me! My question is, how does the multi-track and quantizing features work in conjunction with ARA? Or maybe it doesn't, and I have to export all of the audio clips into the standalone client like in other DAWS? I'm ready to throw money at them, but I want to make sure that this isn't a serious departure from my workflow, so I'm curious how others who currently have Studio use it as opposed to Editor.

That's the way I read it.

Well maybe this answers my question!

Multi-Track Viewing (Melodyne Studio only)

SONAR users can enjoy the ability to view the data from multiple audio tracks all in one single Melodyne window, making it much faster and easier to synchronize notes on different tracks. This unprecedented new feature is useable exclusively in the current edition of SONAR.

So long Audiosnap! This just might be the best thing EVER!

The "current edition of Sonar" may be referring to the January release but I'm not sure.

I'm going to try it out tonight.

Also, here is the Melodyne Studio 4 web page talking about differences between stand-alone and plug-in with multiple tracks:

If the next release can actually integrate Studio's multi-track abilities using ARA... wow.   A way to make detailed multi-track timing alignments and pitch adjustments in a single window.   I like how the track selection in the MD window is similar to SONAR's PRV.

In my very first Studio 4 ARA test I have found one annoying behavior with multi-track view in Melodyne, which you can also see in that demo video: while you can SEE other tracks in the list and even select which from them should display grayed notes, you can not SWITCH to these tracks without leaving Melodyne window. That switching can be done with mouse in track view only (unlike everything else in Sonar, clips can not be operated from control surfaces). May be that can be improved in the future versions, once more users get S4 (cheap for now).

Thanks...  that is very cool.   My main use would likely be entirely in the MD window so this is a great option to have!
