I've looked all over my C; can't find where it went.  Projects won't open.
Standalone works fine.  Guess once i find that directory I will tag it, along with where I put my VST's into my Laundry list!

By default, NI installs its 64-bit VSTs into:
 
C:\Program Files\Native Instruments\VSTPlugins 64 bit
 
Is that folder in your VST scan list? The latest install may have looked for older versions wherever and deleted them.

Well yes that folder is there and its dated 6/3/2017, but inside it another folder vst 32, NO 64!! which the NI Natice Access updater commented on with a Yellow warning !.   The 32 folder is dated 6/14/2017, the actual kont 5, kont8, kont16 are all dated 5/11/2017 at 5:52AM, iam never awake or updating anything at that hour WTDuece?
 
Should it NOT at least have the correct date on it?  wherever it is? My failed projects make mention of my E: drive, 5.7.0 Kont is not anywhere on E.
 
I thought Germans were pretty fastidious.

Ha!  I solved er!!  I put my Komp 10 on e and nestled down deep, there she blow... I dragged er into the e: vst64 folder, correct date and all, and wisely Kont only installed the big dawg "kont 5.dll" meaning 64 i/o, ran a Manual Scan on INI and bob is your UNCLE!!!

Well I spoke too soon.
 
While Kont 5.7.0 was working in 64 out, older projects would not load with the 8 / 16out, which didn't get updated
NI gave a weird yellow ! and a warning about this prior to updating ONLY the 64 out.
 
Well, I found the older 8 out and 16 out, I added the file directory, did a manual rescan, BUT the projects that open using the 64 out or "kont 5.dll" are the OLDER 5.6.8 r25!!!, this is after 5.7 WAS working, wait it gets worse...
 
8 out and 16 out in the synth rack STILL wont open  and
neither Service center or Native Access will add the missing 8out 16out 5.7 or update Kontakt at all as it installed the 5.7 stand alone, the 5.7 Kont 5.dll which is NOT getting loaded after adding that file path. This is after a restart and several testings of older projects for 8 out 16 out as well as new stuff seeing if its 5.7 or 5.6.8 AND checking NI access  and service center... No Bueno
 
Should I uninstall KONTAKT 5, and all its many file paths? and then reinstall???

 I've found the 8 and 16 out vers of 5.6.8, they will actually load, so no more SPlat error message, but they wont play!
I am guilty of copying Kont dll's and/or dragging them awhile back to get MidiCulous running which it did, separately form SPlat of course.
5.6.8 will load and play in the 64 out version of newer projects... BUT  NI Access and Service center will NOT update the older 8/16 out, both NI ACCESS and Service center are current versions.
Now the stand alone 5.7.0 Will not see my keyboard or make sound merely clicking on its GUI.
 
Man I dug a deep midi pit 4 myself ;(
 
Should I uninstall Kont 5 from NI side (if so how does one do that?) or From Win10??
Last question... I have AAX versions of NI, which i never use, how do i get rid of that??

I have 3 entries: Kontakt 5, Kontakt Elements Selection R2 and Kontakt Factory Library.
 
I'd uninstall all 3, then search for and delete any remaining N.I. Kontakt files. Then reinstall all 3 from Native Access.
