Back in the 80's I played in a band and there was a "punk" style club in the city where we were.  We wanted to play there for fun, but we knew we couldn't get booked under our regular name so we wanted a name that we felt would fit the club.  Aftr some thinking we came up with a name that we felt was appropriately punk: "The Dead Wives of Jerry Lee Lewis".  We're probably lucky we didn't get sued.  So guys, what other odd band names have you used or heard?

Death Cab For Cutie, always struck me as unusual.

The Beatles.

Bad spelling aside why call a group of humans a disgusting insect name?

They were named after a song by The Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band, if that explains anything at all..
