I wish they would invest a little in UI development ... and MIDI.

I sure hope the Reapers don't start naming their updates.
I think Android started that nonsense.  I can't remember if I'm running kitkat or lollipop.

This reminds me of Huckleberry Hound:

They pretty much always have, at least for a LONG time, it just hasn't been outward facing to the same extent as others, and most of the time it's like a bit of an in house joke.

UI, yes, then there is always the custom themes etc, some of which are very good. Midi, well it's there, far more than most people know or give credit for, it's just not easily or obviously accessible, which goes back to the GUI thing I suppose, but I wouldn't really call it lacking, there's nothing I want to do that I can't, and far more that I could that I don't want or need.

It makes sense as an inside joke. Now I get it. Thanks for enlightening me to that.

Ya gotta love reaper for its efficient coding. You can run it on an old, under-powered pc and still have a very usable DAW.

I can't believe how much time I've lost in the custom theme rabbit hole.  There are a couple that are close, but none that I can totally live with long term.

MIDI editing is fumbly to me.  Maybe I'm just too used to Sonar to give Reaper it's due.  I have way to many editing accidents in Reaper.

As a straight-forward audio machine, Reaper is a high performing monster.  I always keep it up to date and revisit tweaks now and then hoping that some day it will feel right.

Some have gotten so deep into Reaper and never came back.
