Sonitus Equalizer is very good for removing harsh frequencies. Even better than LP EQ imo. Use it all the time.

EQ, Delay, Gate. I use all three some exclusive others not. They still hold their own even though the GUI could use an update.

I use them all the time for various things. I especially find myself using the delay.

Same here. That delay has a real old school vibe to it and easy to set repeats/time/synch to host.

Agreed, I love the delay, most likely my favorite.

It probably depends on who you ask.  If you have ever had the Producer, Professional, or Platinum versions of Sonar you already have many choices of FX, in addition to Sonitus, to choose from the start.

Cakewalk bought Sonitus:fx from an up and coming company called Ultrafunk in 2003.  They provide a good baseline effects bundle for all version of Sonar.   But as Chuck said, good plugins never die!

They are good, but even Cakewalk offers some newer tools in the flagship Platinum now.  But even so, the Sonitus fx still has a place for many.  They don't have fancy GUI interfaces, but if you know what you are doing, you can get results.

Before you splurge on a FX suite, take a google around at the free FX bundles out there.  There is some good stuff from Blue Cat Audio, Melda, and Tokyo Dawn, for example.

+1, I use it regularly, for HPF too. I liked it when it was set as the EQ for audio tracks, what was that in, Sonar 8? I use the compressor on the master bus too. The GUI is dated, but nice and clear. I prefer it over some of the overly fussy 'steampunk' stuff.

Nice to have various spices on hand and they have very low cpu demands for effect chains!

Being a Traditionalist/Minimalist, I try to keep processing to a bare minimum. if something already sounds great, just leave it alone.
However, recently, I enabled the EQ on the RME UFX Plus and I was just blown away, it's 3 Band very simple but extremely clean, no color as in tube like or tape saturation like sound.

Unless I have missed something, one of my issues with the Sonitus is the Graphical style layout (different strokes for different folks)
and also, (Please Correct me if I am wrong), I have also seen the Sonitus as a fortune cookie or a mint, you know a free give away. More of a gesture then of any value. Just like Microsoft Access included in a Office Suite which most people do not use.
But I could be wrong, especially given I do not use these plug-ins much.

Do you use the Sonitus FX Plugin, if so how would you rate the quality compare to other Software Effects, and if so, is it enough to get your work done?

My favorite Sonar FX plugin was the Lexicon Patheon, I loved that, I also use the Sonitus Delay, which is cool.

Thanks everyone.

What version of Sonar are you using?

(I no longer use the Sonitus Plugins, but they were a very legit suite back in the day, they still function just fine, but I prefer other tools with prettier GUIs)

Some are my go to for track bin effects, I use the delay, EQ and compressor when needed. I like the simple GUI as I have never had any issue dialing in what I want. Often when I try other Plug ins I'll open them,, scratch my head, try to get what I'm after, fail,  and remove them.
I like the BT stuff as well.

I use the delay more than any of them sometimes, and one in a while the reverb.
