The Maillard Reaction
Hi Dave,
 I feel ya. :-)

Piano has got that powerful low end and I can relate to not wanting to surrender the emotional power of that low content.

FWIW, on my extra cheapy speakers it crackles and on my big system with lots of extra clean power it is really, really LOUD down there. I'm guessing that, ironically, it can sneak through and sound clean through a good pair of mid size speakers that do not crackle or fart on the hidden bass, and also do not have enough power to accurately demonstrate what is going on down there.

 I figured you'd want to know. :-)

Good luck finding the sweet spot!!!

I want to repeat the thought that I really enjoy the musicality of the tune. Good stuff.

 best regards,
mike

It works on its own, but it would great with full rhythm section.

Beautiful song and beautiful playing.  It stands on its own and IMHO the minimal instrumentation is perfect.

I think this is great just as it is. The tines really ring out nicely and fit very well with the type of thing you did here. I know how difficult it can be sometimes to mix keys ( at least for me it is) , so am especially impressed by the results you got here.

I enjoyed your composition.  And enjoyed the low rumbley bits ;)
