Want to try out a different drum programming software.. I am from blues, rock background... any suggestion would be helpful.. I have been using AD2 for a while now..
Why do I want to try out something different? Because I have a feeling there may be another program that will give me better result and better workflow (of creating/manipulating drum rolls in midi window).

Depends how much work you want to put into your drum tracks. There's often a trade-off between quick 'n easy results versus total control. SSD at one end of the spectrum, Superior Drummer at the other end.

I'd say FXPansion's BFD3 but i may be biased as i just bought it myself :)

Superior Drummer 2 is still on top IMO. I just don't like that I can't resize it on screen (it is too small for my eyes). However, the control you can achieve through mic bleed and custom kit pieces is awesome. I also like how you can export your mixed, bussed, or single tracks with or w/o bleed as wave files.
They have not released a major update in years. Lot's of us are anxiously waiting for SD3.

I have Superior 2, Addictive Drums 2, and BFD. I have never ended up using AD2 or BFD on a final version of a project! Although, I own a good number of EZX and SDX librarys. I have really tried utilizing AD2 and BFD but they just don't seem to deliver at the end of the day. I have never used SSD so I can't say how that would work for me. For now, and for the last several years, Superior wins hands down!

BFD 3 is the best IMHO, but also the most complex. I must admit to using Superior Drummer most as I know my way around it so well and have my templates set up.

I have never warmed to Addictive Drums, but in fairness I have ever gone much further than auditioning the kits.

Steven Slate sounds great right out of the box but I dislike the interface.

BFD3 is great. Expansions are 1/2 off this month. To me it has more of a raw sound vs. Superior Drummer which is also very good.

If you are into songwriting and premixed type libraries, EZDrummer2 is very cool.

SD2 is what I use, but I use EZD2 for quick and easy, because it sounds great.  SD expansion packs are a little pricey for me, even at that $75 half price point, so I only have a couple...and more EZD expansions that work in SD too.  I like AD because it is "different", but rarely it ends up as the final drum track.  New sounds are always fun to hear.

I've got most all the drum programs available (you can never have too many drums) but I end up using EZD2 for most projects...cause it is, indeed, easy...and I'm one lazy assed sum****. But if you want the best either Superior or BFD3 will do nicely.

I should add that SD2 is the best for me when I am looking for the best quality and customization. However, AD2 is my everyday go to for writing. It's sounds are great for what I need most of the time.
When I think I need something better, I will bring in SD2.
