Just came back from living in the 1800's....
 
We lost power on Friday around 5pm, and it just came back on around 10am on this Monday morning.    We have a generator that runs some of the things and gas logs in the den so it was more like camping in the house....  With the power loss came no phone, cable or internet.... Keeping the generator running was a priority.

I cracked hundreds of pecans, and my wife shelled them. Worked on training the dog. Read a bunch of books and watched a lot of old DVD movies, listened to radio and conversed on ham radio to see what was going on in the rest of the state. 

Today, it's catching up on things and got to go out and pull that limb down that the ice broke, and cut it up.

Herb, glad to see you had a generator as backup......a lot of us take things normal day to day things for granted (power, fresh water, food, heat etc....) and only appreciate it when it's not there.....be safe.

Not sure what I'd do without power...
