I wrote this number for my wife a while ago and recently pulled out the lyrics, dusted it off, and got it finished.  Since we first met in the 1960's, I tried to record it in the Britpop style of the era (oh well -- best laid plans).  The timing on some of the harmony sections might be a wee bit off but I would appreciate any comments, crit.'s, suggestions, etc. on the rest of it.

Thanks.

Pretty close to the BritPop of the 60s IMO. Jangly guitars, snappy drums, basic bass, trem solo and semi Everly Brothers type harmonies. It's all there.

Fun tune Freddy.

I like the tune a lot!  Guitars and vocals sound great!  IMHO, the only thing holding this back is that the drums sound electronic, which to me takes away the overall vintage sound.  But I really do like the song.  :)  Overall, a really good job!

Nice one Freddy. Given your overall style and sound this fits right in to the music you produce. Does have the old Brit sound to it. Sounds good to my ears. Happy New Year.

Peace and Blessings, John

Hello Bapu!  Thanks for being the first to respond and thanks for the kind comments.

Hi Sean.  Thanks for the feedback.  I used some loops for the drums that I downloaded off of the internet.  They were supposed to be recorded from a live trap set?  Maybe it is the loop recording but more than likely it is my choice of loops and mixing.  They had the particular beat that I thought represented that era as best as I remembered it (ya, I'm an old guy).  Thanks again.

Hi John.  Thanks!  I always appreciate the fact that you respond to my posts.  I appreciate the kind comments and feedback.  A very happy new year to you!

Hey Chas.  Thanks for the kind words!  I really enjoyed your last post  -- terrific lyrics to it.

Nice love song Freddy, I'd say you landed on the genera nicely too.

Melody & Harmonies all spot on, really enjoyed this. Beatles feel off it.

My only nit too is the drums, to mechanical and loopy, and All this really needs is that IMO.

Honestly, I reckon if you know a drummer in the area to get him to do it. Using one/two mics I reckon the sound captured would blend nicely with the style and era your going for.

My apologies for taking so long to reply but we are having repairs/renovations done on the old abode and they are driving me nuts (perhaps I should say more nuts).
Hey Robbie and thanks for the kind comments.  With my advancing chronology some of those high notes were a bit hard for me to grab hold of ;>)  I am glad the old Britpop style came through.

Hi Cian.  Thanks very much for your comments.  I understand what you are saying about the drums but unfortunately, I don't have anyone locally here that I could get to do what you are suggesting.  I am using live recording loops but you are right they are a bit mechanical sounding.  I guess I'll go back through my loop files and see if I can find something that fits the song but is a bit more loose.  Thanks again.

Hey, Freddy,

Great sounding vintage love song with a definite 60's feel!

Excellent songwriting and performances, great vocals and harmonies and a clean sounding mix that's perfect for the genre.

The sound of the guitars and the harmonies reminded me of The Byrds late 60's and early 70's stuff, and possibly Herman's Hermits, too.

Nice one Freddy, have a great week, buddy!
Bob
